About me
Hi, I’m Amy, founder of Megawatt Coaching.
I am passionate about supporting professionals to bring their full range of talents and abilities to their companies, to believe in themselves and feel aligned to your business and its values.
I started my career in a leading PR agency 18 years ago, working for clients including Google, NET-A-PORTER and Cisco. Since founding my coaching business in 2018, I’ve supported hundreds of professionals at all levels to raise their confidence, credibility and gain clarity about their contribution.
My client roster has featured leaders at Royal Mail, John Lewis and AXA Healthcare, alongside directors and board members from some of the world’s best-known PR agencies…
My approach to coaching
1. Powerful holistic, calming techniques: Businesses need more energy, support and resilience from their employees than ever before, with high pressure working conditions and extreme levels of exposure to technology, it’s easy to become stressed and over-stimulated. My coaching prioritises supporting them to come back to the present moment, equipping them with effective techniques for remaining calm and grounded, even in stressful conditions. Qualified in yoga, reiki and psychodynamic coaching, I blend body and breath awareness, meditation and creative visualisation to help your team problem-solve with a clear, calm head, in a way that feels authentic, empowering and aligned with the business needs.
2. Shadow work for deep analysis and shifting perspective: Business is all about people and relationships but what happens when we meet an individual who triggers us deeply? There’s only so much that can be done on a conscious, mind-driven level to create connection and influence. Unless you’re working with your “shadow side” (suppressed aspects of your identity) you’ll be limited in the results you see and the cycle will repeat with other, similar characters. As a qualified Psychodynamic Coach, it’s my job to turn the mirror on your team so they deepen self-awareness and reconnect with new, more integrated and resilient versions of themselves. This helps create consistent, next-level performance and brings harmony to working relationships with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
3. A strong focus on business strategy and commercial goals: I’ve been at the sharp end of comms. I’ve also run my own business for the past ten years and coached some highly senior, influential people - often ten years’ my senior. By learning from entrepreneurs and mentors about being strategic, adaptable and commercially lucrative, I’ve established myself as a go-to coach for many business founders. A key area of this is supporting your team to uncover personal purpose. The better they understand themselves, their reason for what they do and their future direction, the more closely they will align to your business, take ownership of their contribution and feel empowered and committed to their work.
How you can work with me
One-to-one coaching: Support those employees facing particular challenges in their jobs or personal lives - e.g. performance review plans, returns from maternity leave, significant promotions or confidence knocks. These sessions provide a confidential environment where your employee can feel safe, heard and valued by your business. We can devise a career progression plan that works for them and your business, or tackle specific issues. Just one hour of dedicated external coaching can make a huge difference in their perspective and performance.
Team workshops, seminars and group training programmes: Workshops via Zoom or in-person provide a learning environment for covering a range of themes, including: improving self-worth, advising senior stakeholders, helping cope with high-pressure workloads, raising your profile internally or externally and improving collaboration in a hybrid working environment.
Working Retreats: Designed for bespoke needs of your individual company, these can be used to help a team decompress after a stressful, busy time, celebrate the value of their work, learn supportive calming techniques or connect in a more supportive way with one another.
